Bioethics
Bioethics is the philosophical study of the ethical controversies
brought about by advances in biology and medicine. Bioethicists are
concerned with the ethical questions that arise in the relationships
among life sciences, biotechnology, medicine, politics, law, philosophy
and theology.
For Christians, how are we to discern God's moral will about medical and
biotechnological advances, such as stem cell research, cloning,
cybernetics, etc? These scientific discoveries and technological
applications are not - and could not have been - directly addressed in
the Bible. In such cases, what does it mean to take a biblical
perspective on these issues, or to develop biblical moral norms?
In this seminar, we will address some pressing bioethical issues and
seek to help Bible-oriented believers to think about bioethics from a
biblical perspective.

Anthropology
The
doctrine of humanity is important because of the present crisis in human
self-understanding. There is great interest in the question 'What is
the human?" and also great confusion over the answer.
The quest
for identity has always been part of the normal process of maturation.
However, many parents fail to instill values in their children, or
advocate values they themselves do not manifest in their lifestyles.
Traditional sources of values (the church, schools & the state) have
become suspect in the postmodern world.
Who am I? What is
life? Where is the world going? Come and find out more. Instructor:

How to Raise A Godly Family
What are the principles and practices
of
raising godly children? What are the things that God expects from us as
Christian parents? These questions among others constitute the focus of
this seminar. It seeks to help parents gain a Christian perspective on
raising their children in the heart of God. Practical guidelines from
the Word of God as to how to raise godly children will also be
discussed.
