To understand God’s message encoded in the Bible, we need to learn how to properly interpret the various types of literature found in the Bible. For example, a psalm should often be interpreted differently than a prophecy. A basic principle in Biblical interpretation is to interpret the passage or verse we are reading in our Bible historically, grammatically, and contextually.
