LEAP stands for “Leadership, Exhortation, Accountability, Prayer”. It is a one-year training programme designed for developing leaders in ministry and mission. Teachings are in the form of monthly lectures on a Thursday evening. There are eleven lectures in total:
Lecture dates: 24 Jan 28 Feb 21 Mar 25 Apr 23 May 27 Jun 25 Jul 22 Aug 26 Sep 31 Oct 7 Nov
Participants are required to submit two book reviews. Each LEAP participant will also be involved in a church "Leadership Project” who upon completion will be required to submit a reflection paper based on that experience. Projects will be arranged in consultation with the church leadership. To help participants consolidate what they learn during the course, a final examination (multiple choice questions, short questions, and a short essay) will be administered at the end of the programme. To reflect the LEAP emphasis on leadership development, each participant will be assigned a “coach” who will journey with him/her over the duration of the programme to provide support and encouragement.
(A) Recommendation – Individual is recommended by a cell leader or functional ministry leader.
(B) Self-Application – Another entry point into the training program is by personal application with a supporting recommendation from a church leader.
Prior to starting the programme participants are to meet with pastoral leadership to understand the expectations of the programme.
