8 Ways To Combat Monday Blues!

Love them or hate them, everyone has to face Mondays. Here are 8 ways to make your Mondays a little bit more bearable!

by Natalie Low & Elisa Pang

  1. Do something special or enjoyable to draw your weekend to a close. For example, go out and have a special meal with your family, or go watch a movie!

  2. Start your week by turning to the Bible. Nothing will kick off a week of impending deadlines and back-to-back meetings better than the gentle encouragement God’s words can provide.

  3. Say a prayer. In times when you are overwhelmed, don’t wallow in your inability. Consult our loving Father! Many are the plans in a man’s heart, but it’s the Lord’s purpose that prevails – Proverbs 19:21. Commit your worries and cares to God. Ask Him to guide you in your week.

  4. Listen to music. Start your Monday morning listening to music you love. It’ll take your mind away from the Monday blues and allow yourself to enjoy the music on your way to work, or school.

  5. Have something to look forward to on Monday nights. Plan something to do after work so that you’ll have something to look forward to at the end of the day. You might choose to go out with friends, or go home and have a relaxing bath, or pop in a DVD to enjoy with your family!

  6. Dress the part. Make the deliberate choice to stay away from black or grey on a Monday. Try something colorful!

  7. Get enough sleep and wake up early. When you don’t get enough sleep, it’s impossible for you to look forward to the day because all you’ll want is more sleep. Try to get at least 7-8 hours of sleep on Sunday night, so that you’ll feel a little more energetic when you wake up on Monday!

  8. Exercise! It’s always good to get your adrenaline pumping on a Monday morning. Do a few sit ups, stretches just to get your energy up before heading to school or work!
