CD Review – Revealing Jesus by Darlene Zschech

by Esther Cheong

Produced by Israel Houghton (co-worship leader/co-songwriter/guitarist), Revealing Jesus CD/DVD was recorded live at the Church of the Highlands in Birmingham, USA during a conference in September 2012. Some notable highlights:

#4. In Jesus’ Name – A warfare victory song that starts with “God is fighting for us, God is on our side, He has overcome…” and a declaration at the chorus “the resurrection power of Christ, alive in me and I am free, in Jesus’ Name!” Listen through this track and join the worshippers in exhorting God’s sovereignty at the reprise. Simply electrifying!

#5. Your Presence Is Heaven – a beautiful re-arrangement with the harp and voices anchoring. The verse is a meditative reflection of a broken soul about God’s majesty and mercies. The thoughts culminate at the chorus with: “Jesus, Your presence is heaven to me”.

#6. Victor’s Crown – Don’t let the lyrics of this song pass you by. Listen intently and embark on a journey about the Lordship of Jesus Christ.

This is one live album where Jesus takes the centre stage and the musical arrangements ow to encourage the worshippers/listeners to exalt the Lord.In the cd sleeve, Darlene wrote: “I actually had resigned myself to maybe never doing a live project again…” I was puzzled initially but later learnt that since 2011, Darlene and family had stepped down from serving in Hillsong in response to a call to lead in HOPE UC (a church at the Central Coast of Australia).
