HANDS – Stories of Love, Companionship, and Sacrifice

HANDS

Stories of Love, Companionship, and Sacrifice

Hands, very much a part of our daily lives. Some prioritise their maintenance painstakingly, while others take them for granted. Often, the hands speak our innermost thoughts, even though they do not have voices of their own.

We use our hands to take, to receive, to hold and to embrace. But that is only possible on many occasions because others have first used theirs to give.

This short photo series features the hands from a small subset of life stages, as a compilation of stories about not only those who have received much, but also those who have given much.

A couple’s commitment to each other: to have and to hold from that day forward. In the days to come, with each other by their side, going through each and every transition.4-2

“If either of them falls down, one can help the other up. … Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves.”

Embracing each other, mutually supporting, intertwined, akin to a cord of three strands which is not quickly broken.

How would you respond to the HANDS that you’ve received from?

How would you use your HANDS to give to others?

Acknowledgement: Words cannot convey the gratitude towards the people who have agreed to be part of this, allowing me to recreate a segment of their journey.
