Summary:
In the past 3 days’ devotions, we have noted:
God is love and He is inviting us to participate in this love in Christ. Only when we have received the love of God can we begin to love those around us.
From Genesis, we observe God’s design of complementary pairs in creation which climaxed in the creation of mankind as male and female. This same complementarity is also alluded to in the new heaven and new earth through the marriage of Christ and the church. Therefore, Christians uphold marriage as between 1 man and 1 woman because it is a signpost of God’s goodness in the original creation and of his intention for the new heavens and new earth.
In the beginning, God noted that it was not good for man to be alone. Mankind was created for interaction and intimacy in community. Isolation and aloneness are detrimental to holistic growth.

Prayer:
That we may daily experience God’s love and learn to love others.
That amidst the present confusion over human sexuality and attempts to redefine marriage, Christians may have clarity, confidence and conviction in God’s design for mankind as male and female, and uphold marriage as between 1 man and 1 woman.
That we may make every effort to build intimacy, bonds and community with those around us.
